Familiars

Running fast to save his life Aldwyn ducks into an unusual pet store. Moments later Jack, a wizard in training, comes in to choose a magical animal to be his familiar. Aldwyn's always been clever. But magical? Jack thinks so- and Aldwyn is happy to play along. He just has to convince the others- the know it all blue jay, Skylar and the friendly tree frog, Gilbert- that he's the powerful cat he claims to be.
Then the unthinkable happens. Jack and two other young wizards are captured by the evil queen of Vastia. On a thrilling quest to save their loyals, the familiars face dangerous foes, unearth a shocking centuries old secret, and discover a destiny that will change Vastia forever.

I enjoyed this book because there are a lot of adventures and surprises. Aldwyn is a very believable character because he has to make a hard decision. Does he want to save Jack and risk losing his life or  does he want to go back to he life he had as an ally cat? Either way he is still in danger. If you like a good adventure, this book has plenty of surprisesn and adventures.

Matched

For Cassia, nothing is left to chance--not what she will eat, the job she will have, or the man she will marry. The Society Officials have determined optimal outcomes for all aspects of daily life, thereby removing the "burden" of choice. When Cassia's best friend is identified as her ideal marriage Match it confirms her belief that Society knows best, until she plugs in her Match microchip and a different boy’s face flashes on the screen. This improbable mistake sets Cassia on a dangerous path to the unthinkable--rebelling against the predetermined life Society has in store for her.

I really enjoyed reading Matched. Cassia was a very strong character and she had to make some tough decisions. Her whole life, she's been told what to do and when to do it, but on the day of her Match, everything changes. She begins to question if the Society has her best interests at heart. They say her Match is Xander, but she really begins to like Ky. My favorite out of the two is Ky. Ky is a very nice character. Xander was too, but I think Ky suits her a lot better. I can't wait for the next book!

Uglies

Uglies book.jpg

Tally is a about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license-for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world-and it isn't very pretty.

I really enjoyed this book. It was tense, romantic and had a lot of action. Tally was a very daring character. She does a lot of creative jokes on uglies and pretties. She reminds me of me. I like to do jokes, but I don't think I could handle any of the things she does.

Hello there!

Hi! My name is Sophia and one of my favorite hobbies is to read. I love to discover new places and funny characters. I also enjoy great adventures and epic battles. If you have a suggestion for a great book about animals or love or all of the above, I'd love to hear about it. As for me, I plan on writing my thoughts on some of the amazing books that I read along the way.
